Hastings-on-Hudson
Hastings-on-Hudson is a village in the town of Greenburg. It is on the eastern bank of the Hudson River, with Dobbs Ferry to the north, Yonkers to the south and unincorporated parts of Greenburgh to the east. It is about 20 miles north of Midtown Manhattan and has a Metro North station.
The village is picturesque, with homes dotting hilly tree-lined streets, and has a small town feel with shop workers downtown knowing many customers by name. According to the 2010 census, Hastings-on-Hudson is more socioeconomically diverse than other towns in Westchester, although this may have changed in recent years with more families moving from Manhattan and Brooklyn, driving up the housing values. These factors, along with its high rated school system and local parks and playing fields, attract many to the village.
In Hastings-on-Hudson you’ll find Tudors, colonials, Victorians and contemporaries atop its hilly streets and great western views from homes at the tops of the hills. You’ll also find new development condos on Main Street, as well as co-ops and rental buildings. The center of the village’s shopping is at Warburton Avenue and Main Street.
